Holiday Santa Program
Holiday Santa Program
Each year the Front Door Agency accepts applications for holiday assistance from income-qualified families in need. We then “adopt” out these families to individuals, businesses, churches and other organizations who generously provide toys and warm clothing to children in our community. Please check back in early Fall for registration dates and to be placed on our list of adopters. For questions, email Nancy.
In addition to “adopting” a family, ways you can help during the holidays:
- Buy toys and household items. This will help us fill in the gaps for children who do not receive their wish list items and/or for any last minute requests. Please have the items shipped to your address and then kindly drop them off at our 7 Concord Street, Nashua location by December 15, 2018.
- Give a monetary donation so that we can purchase gift cards for teens and for Moms in our programs.
- Volunteer your time. We need muscle power to help accept and distribute gifts! Please consider signing up to help unload large trucks of holiday gifts donated by our Platinum Partner, BAE.
Thank you to all of those in the community who gave so generously to our Holiday Program in 2017. With your help, we were able to provide toys and warm clothing to 766 children in need. Special thanks to BAE, Right Network, Church of the Good Shepherd and many other individuals, organizations and businesses for your generosity!
Since our inception, we have offered a program to help ensure smiles to the children of our community on Christmas morning. Santa lives in each and every one of us, and through this program the true meaning of the Christmas spirit becomes apparent.
In 1994, the Front Door Agency joined with the Telegraph to ensure the Santa Fund resources are allocated to those most in need. Through this partnership, we have provided gifts, food, toys and clothing to nearly 1,000 children each and every year.
Local businesses, civic groups, individuals and religious organizations all participate in adopting children for the holidays. It is estimated that through the generosity of the community we pass through over $100,000 in in-kind contributions.
Registrations for assistance are held yearly in late October and early November.
