What does it mean to be a HOUSING HERO?

Our HOUSING HERO Sponsorship Program empowers individuals, businesses, and community groups to take an active role in ending homelessness for women and children. By becoming a FDA HOUSING HERO, you’re not just funding a space – you’re creating a sanctuary where women and children can rebuild, reconnect, and renew.

Family units and common areas can be “adopted” for a calendar year by local businesses, groups, and families. The sponsorship offsets costs, provides funds toward facility upgrades and ensures that homeless women and children have a safe place to call home. Your dollars directly help families in need and you receive sponsorship benefits.

What does your sponsorship provide?

When moms and their children arrive at the Norwell Home, they are overwhelmed with emotion. For the first time in a long time, they have a safe space prepared especially for them with beds, sheets, pillows, towels and a personal care kit. It is a truly heartwarming moment.

In addition to offsetting the cost of these and other necessities, your sponsorship provides:

Case management. One-on-one case management addresses individual needs and challenges.
Educational opportunities. In addition to assistance enrolling in formal educational programs or job training, we offer classes on budgeting, healthy relationships, parenting and career development.
Children’s programs. We provide assistance with daycare, summer camps, after-school programs and extracurricular activities to help children learn and grow as a part of their community.
Home improvements. Keeping up with routine maintenance and creating a welcoming, safe space is crucial to setting residents up for success.

FOUNDATION SETTER $2,500
