Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program
The Front Door Agency’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) aims to help young adults living in situations of homelessness in Greater Nashua. By providing safe, communal, short-term living, youth are given the stepping stone they need to get back on their feet and onto a path of success.

Homelessness can look like more than living on the streets. If you are between the ages of 18 and 24, or an emancipated youth under the age of 18, and are in a situation of homelessness, the Front Door Agency is here to help.
We support youth and young adults who may be:
- Couch surfing
- Staying with friends or strangers
- Living in unsafe or unstable housing
- Without family support
- Facing a crisis
What Does Being A Participant of the YHDP mean?
The YHDP offers a variety of services including but not limited to:
- Case management
- Grocery funds
- Rental assistance
- Utility assistance
- Bill coverage
- Phone payments
NOT ONLY OFFERED TO PARTICIPANTS OF TRANSITIONAL LIVING AND RAPID REHOUSING.

The YHDP’s transitional living program hosts 9 individuals across 2 properties. Benefits of transitonal living are as follows:
TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM
Short-Term Housing
- A safe place to stay for 3–8 months while you get back on your feet
Help Finding Your Own Place
- We’ll help you move into affordable housing and support you for up to 2 years
Support Services Including:
- Financial literacy & “Ready to Rent” program
- Health & recovery referrals
- Peer support
- Opportunities for higher education & job skill training
