Our Board members are critical to the foundation of The Front Door Agency, ensuring the smooth execution of our mission. They are entrusted with establishing essential policies, contributing invaluable expertise from their diverse fields, and meticulously overseeing budget approvals. Their commitment to excellence ensures the utmost care in guiding the Front Door Agency. Yet, their dedication extends far beyond these responsibilities. They generously volunteer their time and expertise in numerous other capacities within the agency.

As we welcome our new Board members to the Front Door Agency team, we took the opportunity to connect with them personally. We asked a few questions to learn about their lives and their aspirations for our community:

Meet Viktoriya –

What attracted you to The Front Door Agency, and why did you choose to join our board?

The Front Door Agency’s dedication to making a real difference in people’s lives deeply resonated with me. Their mission to empower and transform aligns perfectly with my own passion for service. I was eager to contribute to the positive impact they have on their participants and the community and bring my skills and experience to be a valuable asset to their vision.

What aspects of The Front Door Agency’s work in the community resonate most with you?

The Front Door Agency’s focus on empowering individuals truly resonates with me. Their programs go beyond simply providing financial assistance; they equip people with the tools they need to build careers, not just find jobs. This fosters a sense of agency and motivation, helping individuals break the cycle of poverty and permanently change their life trajectory. It’s inspiring to see an organization that invests in a brighter future for their clients.

What do you feel are some of the most critical challenges facing individuals and families in the Greater Nashua community?

One of the most pressing issues facing the community is the rising cost of living. This puts a strain on individuals and families, making it difficult to afford basic necessities like childcare and housing. This lack of stability can have a ripple effect, impacting their ability to care for themselves and their loved ones.

Organizations like the Front Door Agency play a vital role in addressing this challenge. They provide individuals with that stability and equip them with the resources they need to thrive. Their programs empower participants to achieve a better life by addressing the root causes of instability.

How does The Front Door Agency’s mission of empowering individuals and families to achieve sustainable independence align with your personal values and goals?

I share The Front Door Agency’s passion for empowering individuals and families to achieve sustainable independence. I strongly believe that with the right resources and support, anyone can reach their full potential. Unfortunately, sometimes people face challenges in their environment that hold them back. The Front Door Agency’s mission directly addresses this by providing individuals with the guidance and professional network they need to succeed. It’s incredibly rewarding to see success stories of people who, thanks to the Agency’s support, were able to turn their lives around, whether it’s finding a new career path or using their newfound skills to advance in life.

What are some things you enjoy doing in your down time?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, going to the beach in the summer, and traveling to explore a new place.

Meet Leanne –

What attracted you to The Front Door Agency, and why did you choose to join our board?

Karen Carlisle originally brought this organization to my attention as she was retiring, and we both felt this would be a perfect fit for me.

What aspects of The Front Door Agency’s work in the community resonate most with you?

This agency truly resonates with me as I struggled raising my sons as a single parent.  I often worked two full-time jobs and there were no comprehensive assistance programs to help elevate, educate and support women like me.  The more I learn about Front Door, the more I believe this program is exactly what is needed to help women establish a successful, permanent path to true financial stability and independence.

What do you feel are some of the most critical challenges facing individuals and families in the Greater Nashua community?

I believe the biggest challenges are skyrocketing real estate and apartment rental costs, childcare costs and the abrupt termination of government assistance programs once recipients cross income thresholds.  Families are at risk of losing their benefits if they have personal assets or savings.  This contributes to a cycle of dependence on public assistance and an inability to develop careers and create financial solvency.

How does The Front Door Agency’s mission of empowering individuals and families to achieve sustainable independence align with your personal values and goals?

The mission of Front Door aligns perfectly with my core beliefs.  Education and empowerment are essential for sustainable success.  An individual’s dignity and confidence are developed and supported by this program and the deep commitment to these values are expressed by everyone involved.

What are some things you enjoy doing in your down time?

One of my greatest passions is cooking.  I love experimenting with new ingredients and cooking techniques.  I also love spending time with my dog, Kona.  She is my first pet and a precious addition to my family.  I also love standup comedy and hope to someday try it by challenging myself to perform at an amateur event in the future.
