In 2020, when the pandemic hit we were deemed essential and had to implement new safety protocols for closings. The closing process in New Hampshire remains traditional, using pen-to-paper signings because of the notarization process. An emergency order went into effect during the pandemic, allowing us the use of Remote Ink-Signed Notarization (RIN) through secure vendor platforms. This sparked many groups and networks to introduce a Remote Online Notarization (RON) bill. Currently, over 30 states have passed Remote Online Notarization legislation. The New Hampshire House voted in the Senate and passed the bill! Next stop, the Governor’s office, once signed the bill will go into effect 180 days from that date. This will make the closing process more convenient for all parties involved!
