The Important Job of Our Board Members
Throughout the history of the Front Door Agency, the Board of Directors has continually reached new heights to carry out our mission. Masters of their various respective fields, our Board guarantees our continued success through setting beneficial policies, reviewing and approving the budget, and pitching new initiatives to better the lives of those in crisis in the Greater Nashua community. Volunteering invaluable hours of their time, our Board members work as an expert team of problem solvers to make sure that the Front Door Agency’s mission, vision, and values are being upheld to their fullest potential.
We are pleased to announce the addition of three new members to our Board of Directors: Sue Beaubien, Rebecca Lammare, and Stephen Lynn. Each has graciously shared their vision and hopes for their work with the Front Door and the Greater Nashua community:
Sue Beaubien
About Sue:
After previously serving for ten years as both a Board member and Board President, Sue is excited to officially return to the Board of Directors. With over 40 years of banking experience at Bellwether Community Credit Union and TD Bank, she is well-versed in the finance industry. Currently serving as Vice President of Retail Services at Bellwether, Sue brings a wide range of skills to the Board and remains closely attuned to current banking trends. In addition to her Board service, she is also a dedicated member of the Agency’s Gourmet Festival Task Force. A Nashua resident for more than 20 years, Sue is committed to helping create meaningful change in the community she holds so dear.
Q: What about the Front Door Agency and its mission made you feel like you wanted to get involved? What motivated you to join the Board of Directors?
A: “I have been a long-time supporter, prior board member and board officer of the Front Door Agency. I chose to reinvolve myself with board service at the Front Door Agency because I believe the work they do directly and positively impacts the greater Nashua community. The Front Door Agency represent the forward-thinking, problem solving action that is needed to help people turn unfortunate circumstances into triumphant, empowering success stories.”
Q: What’s an issue facing the community that you would like to address?
A: ” I think it will be important for all segments of our community to support and partner together to create truly affordable housing solutions.”
Q: What is your favorite part about the Greater Nashua community?
A: “I love living in a city with a small town feel, and I most enjoy the history and culture you can find around every corner.”
Q: What do you like to do for fun in your free time?
A: “Bake, craft, walk, and get outside!”
Rebecca Lammare
About Becca:
An attorney licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Becca is highly experienced in the legal practices of the Greater Nashua area. Serving on a Board for the first time, she brings expertise in trust and estates administration, estate planning, and Medicaid assistance, including guidance with applications and appeals. A lifelong resident of the East Coast, Becca grew up in Massachusetts and earned both her undergraduate degree and J.D. at New England institutions – Roger Williams University and Quinnipiac University. She and her husband are raising their three children, along with a dog and a flock of geese, truly embodying one of the Agency’s core values: family.
Q: What about the Front Door Agency and its mission made you feel like you wanted to get involved? What motivated you to join the Board of Directors?
A: “I believe that everyone deserves to have a safe place to live. In recent years, sky rocketing prices of housing have made what is already a vulnerable population more vulnerable. I was drawn to the Front Door Agency because part of the focus is on intervention before a housing crisis begins to keep individuals and families in their homes instead of adding to the unhoused population.”
Q: What’s an issue facing the community that you would like to address?
A: “I think that rising rent and housing costs are going to continue to put pressure on the system, potentially creating a greater unhoused population. Instead of criminalizing homelessness as some other communities have done, I believe the focus should be on finding better solutions to provide the population with suitable, affordable housing.”
Q: What is your favorite part about the Greater Nashua community?
A: “I grew up just south of Nashua and have spent the better part of my life within the Greater Nashua community. I love that it is a diverse community with individuals who really want to be involved in their community and create change.”
Q: What do you like to do for fun in your free time?
A: “I am a mother of three and spend my free time with my children and husband. Together we raise a flock of a dozen ducks and three geese – Kevin, Thelma and Louise. When I am not working in the yard with my husband, I enjoy reading and hiking.”
Stephen Lynn
About Steve:
Steve decided to dedicate his time to the Board of Directors after being inspired by his wife Becki’s longstanding involvement with the Front Door Agency. He moved to Nashua in 1999 for a role at Rivier College, where he led student activities and community service programs. After earning his MBA in 2006, Steve joined Fidelity Investments and, eighteen years later, now leads the firm’s Nashua office. In this role, he hopes to contribute his expertise in leadership and financial education to further the Agency’s mission. Deeply rooted in the community, Steve and Becki remain active through local schools, youth sports, their church, and organizations such as the YMCA. Raised by his mother, who worked multiple jobs to support him and his sister, Steve carries forward her lessons of compassion and humanity as he works to help families achieve lasting success.
Q: What about the Front Door Agency and its mission made you feel like you wanted to get involved? What motivated you to join the Board of Directors?
A: “It gives me clarity of purpose, and it’s a cause that resonates personally with me. I was raised by a single mother and while we never experienced homelessness, she worked 3 jobs and could have really used some support at times. In addition, it’s my way of contributing. My wife has been a volunteer for FDA and I wanted to join her.”
Q: What’s an issue facing the community that you would like to address?
A: “The Agency offers constructive assistance versus just throwing money at the issue. What the FDA does is thoughtful, mission driven and process oriented. There is support AND accountability. The more support the community can have like this the better.”
Q: What is your favorite part about the Greater Nashua community?
A: “There is generally a can do attitude throughout Southern NH. It’s a very small circle yet people can get things done.”
Q: What do you like to do for fun in your free time?
A: “Travel, cook, and eat!”
