Permanent, Affordable Housing
The Front Door Agency’s permanent affordable housing in Nashua includes Mary’s House, Marshall St. and Shattuck St.
In April 2023, the Agency expanded it reach and extended its mission to end homelessness with the purchase of Mary’s House. The Agency’s purchase of Mary’s ensures that it will remain affordable housing for the Greater Nashua Community.
Mary’s House is a non-treatment, Section 8 rent-assisted apartment building with 40 subsidized single-room occupancy apartments. It provides permanent housing for single, homeless women without children, who are in need of a safe and supportive living environment.
The Nashua Housing Authority provides housing vouchers for Mary’s House. To apply for Mary’s House, you must visit The Nashua Housing Authority in-person at:
MARSHALL ST. SHATTUCK ST.
These properties provide six 2-bedroom units and two 3-bedroom units.
- Families with income at 60% of the area median income who can independently support rent between $900 and $1,100 per month are eligible to apply. Please check HUD income limits before applying.
- ONLY families requiring two or more bedrooms are eligible. We do not have any 1-bedroom units.
- Priority is given to families without a Housing Choice Voucher (section 8).
Vacancies in our affordable permanent housing units are rare. This is not emergency housing. The Agency maintains a waitlist for occupancy. Applications are held for up to 12 months. Applicants are contacted in the order received if an appropriate unit becomes available during that time.
Use the link below to submit a Waitlist Application. You will receive confirmation of receipt of your application within 5 business days of submission.
The Agency is in need of monetary support to help with essential renovations to Mary’s House. We are hoping to raise $310k to create a new community space, care management space, and upgrade the security and heating systems. Will you consider helping us?
