2024 Holiday Program is temporarily paused.

Each year we pair families in need with community members that fulfill their wish lists. In 2023, 83 individuals, businesses, and organizations donated toys, warm clothing, and food to 540 children – filling the Courtyard by Marriott Nashua ballroom with gifts!

Local children received toys, warm clothing, and food during our 2023 Holiday Program.

Local individuals, businesses, and organizations (hundreds of donors in total) donated gifts last year.

Who Do You Help When You Support the Holiday Program?

Single mothers like Michelle

Michelle is a single mother of five children ranging in age from two to seventeen. When schools went fully virtual, she quit her job to stay at home and help them with remote learning, including her oldest daughter who has a developmental disorder and needs a lot of one-on-one assistance. She is struggling to make ends meet but, with no other childcare options, she cannot afford to go back to work until schools reopen. This is her first time receiving assistance through the Holiday Program. “Thank God for this,” she said. “It’s been a hard year for all of us and I would never be able to make Christmas special on my own.”

Families like Amandas’

Amanda, a mom of two, had to quit her job to care for her five-year-old son, who was diagnosed with a medical condition that requires special schooling and expensive medication and therapy. The family struggles to make ends meet on one income. “I never had a tree or gifts when I was growing up and I never want my kids to experience that,” said Amanda. “This program helps make Christmas special again for us.”

Holiday Program History

Since our inception, we have offered a program to make the holidays special for children in need. In 1994, the Front Door Agency joined with the Telegraph to ensure the Santa Fund resources are allocated to those most in need. We now offer the Holiday Program to help families in the Greater Nashua area.

Local businesses, civic groups, individuals, and religious organizations all participate in adopting children for the holidays. It is estimated that through the generosity of the community we pass through over $100,000 in in-kind contributions.
