Preventing homelessness. Transforming lives.

About the Program

The Front Door believes preventing homelessness is critical to the well-being of our community and families. The most economical and humane strategy for those at imminent risk of homelessness is to prevent it in the first place. Providing one-time or short-term rent or mortgage subsidies, utility subsidies, legal assistance, and housing placement services are critical in order to reduce the high cost of providing services and to eliminate the disruption that results when people become homeless.

If you are in need of assistance, please be sure you are in our service area (listed below) and then fill out our online application (button to the right). Please read all application instructions BEFORE you begin your online application.
