Landlord Incentive Program

The Front Door Agency’s Landlord Incentive Program empowers landlords to be part of a community solution while receiving financial benefits and ongoing support.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In an effort to address the region’s growing housing crisis, the Front Door Agency is launching a new Landlord Incentive Program in partnership with the City of Nashua’s Housing Trust Fund. This initiative provides financial benefits and ongoing support to local landlords who rent to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.

With the vacancy rate in Greater Nashua below 1% and rents continuing to rise, the program seeks to both increase access to affordable housing and reduce barriers for low-income and voucher-holding tenants.

      Landlords who participate may be eligible for the following incentives:

  • $500 Sign-On Bonus for leasing to a high-risk or voucher-holding tenant

 

  • Up to $2,500 Security Deposit Coverage

 

  • Up to $2,500 Loss Mitigation Fund for damages or tenant abandonment

 

  • Up to $4,000 in Renovation Assistance to bring units up to code

Ongoing support will be offered to include case management for tenants, mediation services, property inspection coordination, and application processing assistance. All tenants supported through the program must complete the Ready to Rent education course – a landlord-informed curriculum designed to prepare renters for long-term success. Landlords may also take part in a Ready to Rent Landlord Training to strengthen collaboration and communication with tenants and housing providers.
